Decadent Minimalist was founded in 2014 with the DM1 Wallet launch on Kickstarter. Our campaign was funded 1837% of our goal and we sold over 2,000 wallets to more than 1,500 backers. A year later, in 2015, we returned to Kickstarter to launch DM1 Nickel, DM1 Titanium and DM1 Carbon Fiber. We smashed Kickstarter records - with over 5,000 backers and $500,000 in pledges we became the largest wallet crowd funding campaign ever. With both successful campaigns, we remain the largest wallet creator in Kickstarter history.
Now our products are available here on our website, Amazon, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art gift store and many other retailers. We have also been featured in multiple flash sales on Touch of Modern and ModernLook as well as 2 pop-up stores at Maker Faire.
DM1 was created to help you STOP sitting on your thick, old-fashioned leather wallet. Sitting lop-sided for many hours every day is simply bad for your posture and can cause back pain.
The original DM1 Wallet Prototype was developed as a class project at Stanford University - Product Realization Lab. Students like me were tasked with solving real-world problems, designing solutions in SolidWorks CAD, planning machining on HSMWorks CAM and physically machining prototypes on Haas CNC milling machines.
We manufacture all our products in the USA. Our Signature product - DM1 Wallet - is now manufactured in-house on our high precision Okuma M560 CNC milling machine in Seattle, Washington.
The innovative DM1 Wallet is now patented and patent pending in multiple additional countries:
USA Patents 9,681,721 and D809,792
South Korea Patent 10-1965080
